Appreciating the value of food starts at school. What if all children and teenagers were consuming their food more responsibly, having in mind that almost 805 millions of people are affected by hunger?

Given that the global population is expected to exceed 9 billion human inhabitants and 1/3 of global food production is wasted every year, as well as food waste causes the avoidable consumption of natural resources, it is extremely important to raise a future generation with more sustainable lifestyles.

In this context, “Don’t waste our future!” project provided the opportunity for 2800 young students and 40 local authorities from 7 countries to be informed about responsible consumption. Through workshops, interactive didactic sessions and the active participation of students, the project managed to bring schools and local authorities together and build engagement between them, in order to achieve concrete actions for the benefit of the whole community.
